At WIEGEL’s Velké Meziříčí site, large-format façade components for the new ice stadium in Brno were hot-dip galvanized and coated using the duplex process.
Each component weighs around two tonnes, stands over 2.5 metres high, and measures approximately 13 metres in length. The treatment took place in a zinc bath measuring 15.0 m in length, 1.70 m in width, and 2.80 m in depth – ideal for very large steel structures.
For long-term corrosion protection, WIEGEL combines hot-dip galvanizing with an additional wet coating. This coating is applied directly on site, keeping transport routes short and operations efficient. The project demonstrates how WIEGEL’s proven surface technology ensures lasting safety and quality for exposed façade elements.
